Use of equipment, safety and safeguarding for all
We want you to have a great time at our pool sessions
So we have a few guidelines and of course some rules when it comes to equipment, safety and safeguarding for all.
Please have a read and if you have any questions ask the Pool Safety Officer, a leader or another Club members
Equipment
Boat, SUP and equipment hires can be picked up from the Club house at 07:00pm and returned after the pool session.
Please note that it is your responsibility to transport your own equipment
Short boat is deemed at under 10’4”, SUP: 10’6”, Sea Kayak: over 15’
All equipment be clean and free of grit and dirt inside and outside
After use all Club helmets, PFDs (Persona Floatation Device) and spray decks must be rinsed with fresh water.
Safety
A PFD and Helmet MUST be worn in the pool by paddlers and coaches
Wear appropriate clothing for the pool, consider rash vest, surf shorts, wet shoes
The Club’s Pool Safety Officer (PSO). The PSO runs the event and liaises with Teignbridge Leisure (TBL) duty staff.
They are trained in Safety / Rescues and are your duty First Aider and a First Aid kit will be poolside in addition to the first Aid provision by TBL staff
The PSO is also trained in Safeguarding and is DBS checked
Their instructions must be followed
A full Risk Assessment has been shared and agreed with Teignbridge Leisure and is available to view on our Club website.
