Where we meet

Summer — Wednesday evenings

From April to September the club meets at the Eastcliff clubhouse on Teignmouth seafront — the Jubilee Shelter on East Cliff Walk, under the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club — on Wednesday evenings between 6.00pm and 6.30pm. Boats are carried down to the beach, and what we do that evening is decided on the night, depending on the conditions. There is often a beginners' group, while the more confident paddlers head out on the water.

Winter — Friday evenings

Through the winter months we paddle at Dawlish Leisure Centre on Friday evenings. The pool sessions cover the skills you need for white water and sea paddling — rescues, strokes and rolling — and they are the easiest place to start if you are joining us out of season.

Coming to try a session? You will be fitted out with a boat and kit at the clubhouse on Teignmouth seafront at 7.00pm first, and we will do our best to get everything to the pool for you.

At the weekend

Members organise trips most weekends — the River Dart and other local rivers, and some further afield. In the summer the focus is on the estuary and sea kayaking, and in the winter on rivers and white water. The club trips page has what is coming up.

Not sure which to come to? Book a taster session or ask the club and we will point you at the right one.
